"To assist eligible adults and children in need by practicing the principles of Freemasonry"

TRUMAN CLUB LEGACY
As The One Great Charity in missouri Freemasonry, the Masonic Home of Missouri has felt deep historic and philosophic ties with Harry S Truman.

Both of Truman's grand fathers were members of the Craft.  His wife, te fromer Bess Wallace, was the daughter of David W. Wallace, the Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery, Knights Templar of Missouri.  His sister, Mary Jane Truman was Worth Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of Missouri.

Truman, himself, was an extremely active Mason.  He was initiated in Belton Lodge No. 450 on February 9, 1909, passed on March 9 and raised March 18, 1909.  In 1911 he assisted in the organization of Grandview Lodge No. 618, and was Worshipful Master under dispensation, as well as its first Master under the charter.  he served as District Deput Grand Maste and District Lecturer for the 59th Masonic District from 1925-1930.  Because of his proficiency as a ritualist he was chosen as Lecturer by the then Grand Lecturer.  At the 1930 Communication of the Missouri Grand Lodge, he was appointed Grand Pursuivant and progressed regularly through the Grand Lodge Lin until his election as Grand Maste in 1940.

Harry S Truman exemplifies the extraordinary loyalty and respect many Freemasons have toward the Masonic home and twoard each other and fraternal brothers.  his commitment to the Masonic Home of Missouri make it appropriate that Missouri Masons who are dedicated to the Home be banded together in a Truman Club.

What is the Truman Club?
The Truman Club was created to encourage ever-greater support for the Home.  The fact is that no Masonic Jurisdiction can maintain a truly great relief organization by membership dues alone.  Substantial giving from individuals and couples provides the margin of excellence to which we aspire.

Who is eligible for membership?
membership is open to Missouri Freemasons and Eastern Star members, their spouses, descendents, and friends.  Truman Club membership is established through gifts in support of Masonic Home programs and fund-raising events.

Are their membership categories?
Yes, ther are two.  Annual Membership requires giving of at least $100.00 during any calendar year and is renewable January first of every year.  Perpetual membership begins once a individual's cumulative giving reaches $1000.00 beginning January 1, 2004.  Perpetual members support the Home at defined levels of cumulative giving named after some of Missouri's most Illustrious Masons.
