Short-Term Financial Assistance

The Short-Term Financial Assistance Program assists eligible Missouri Masons, their wives or widows, and Eastern Star ladies in good standing who are experiencing an unexpected and temporary period of financial hardship, oftentimes caused by a recent job loss or serious illness.

Financial assistance is typically provided for a period of one to six months.

In FY 2022, the Masonic Home provided $55,047 of short-term financial assistance.

Assistance Examples

Examples of Short-Term Financial Assistance in the community:

  • Rent or mortgage payments
  • Household expenses, such as utilities, pharmacy bill, groceries, etc.

Examples of one-time assistance for expenses that do not occur on a monthly basis:

  • Hearing Aids or Eye Glasses
  • Medical Bills
  • Dental Bills
  • Insurance Payments
  • Adaptive and Assistive Devices

Qualifications:

Individuals who qualify for short-term financial assistance are Missouri Masons, their wives or widows, and Eastern Star ladies in good standing.

Financial assistance is provided with the anticipation that financial hardship will be resolved and is typically provided for one to six months.

Applicants must complete an application to demonstrate a financial need.
